Aruna Chandran AnandkumarFounder and Director

Aruna Chandran Anandkumar is the Founder and Director of Bright Beginnings. After a BA in Psychology from the Women's Christian College, Chennai, and an MBA in International Business from the George Washington University in Washington D.C., Aruna worked for six years at the World Bank in Washington DC. After working for several years in the India Department on several social sector development projects such as Health, Nutrition, Population and Education, she decided to take a break from work to raise her two children. After having lived in the US for 15 years, Aruna moved with her family to Bangalore in the year 2000. It was primarily the pursuit of an ideal Montessori preschool for her daughter as well as her exposure to being a teacher to her young children in the US schooling system and an inner calling to dedicate herself to the cause of holistic early education that saw the birth of Bright Beginnings. Bright Beginnings was founded in the year June 2004.

Geetha S.NityanandaSchool Advisor

Geetha S.Nityananda was educated at the University of Madras and holds a Diploma of the Association Montessori Internationale. Geetha Ma'am worked at Head Start Montessori House of Children, Bangalore for 22 years and was one of the major forces behind its growth into a leading Montessori Institution today. She planned and designed its academic program, ensuring the holistic development of each child. She also pioneered a program of Inclusive Education for children with special needs. She is currently a consultant and advisor to several educational institutions based on the Montessori Method, assisting school managements in setting up and running Montessori programs, guiding trained teachers on classroom strategy, advising parents on parenting skills and helping in the resolution of child-specific problems. In addition, she is also a Member of the Central Governing Council of the Indian Montessori Centre as well as a Member Board of Studies of the Indian Montessori Centre, Bangalore and Chennai, overseeing their training programs. She is an official examiner at the Indian Montessori Training Centre's final examinations and viva voce.

Our Staff

Our staffcomprises of teachers with Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Literature, Zoology, Computer Science, Economics, Business Studies and Fine Arts, in addition to their Montessori Diplomas. Most of them have numerous years of experience and we yet have with us our founding team of teachers who add invaluable merit to our Preschool Programs. All our Teachers go through annual training programs and refresher courses to keep themselves updated on the best early childhood teaching practices. In addition, all our teachers are trained in CPR and First Aid practices on an annual basis.
